WELCOME TO SAMIL LAW, P.C.!

Article 59 under Chapter Ⅴ, Authentication of Private Certificate of Notary Public Act provides that:

Article 59 (Mutatis Mutandis Application)

The provisions of Articles 25 through 33, 36, 37 and 38 (5) shall apply mutatis mutandis to the case of notarial deeds awarded for a deed signed by a private person.

And Article 26 of the Act provides that:

Article 26 (Language to be Used)

(1) The Korean language shall be used in any deed prepared by a notary public: Provided, That a foreign language may be used together upon a request of the client.

Therefore, if you need to notarize any non-Korean documents, you first need to translate them into Korean.

If you need a translator or cannot find one, or if you have any further questions, please contact us.

Thank you.
